Nokia has recently launched in India the Nokia E61, a slim Dual Mode UMTS, triple band GPRS/GSM smartphone which has large 2.8-inch TFT screen supporting 16 million colors and has a backlit full QWERT keyboard and a full array of wireless options.
Supporting polyphonic, monophonic and MP3 ringtones, the Nokia E61 smartphone supports GPRS Class 10, EDGE Class 10 (236.8 kbps) and is 3G Network compatible capable of connection at 384 kbps. The handset also has an integrated MP3 meadia player which supports MP3 and AAC music file formats.
Resembling closely in design to both BlackBerry and Motorola Q, the new Nokia E61 smartphone has extensive choices for wirelsss connectivity which includes Wireless LAN Wi-Fi 802.11i/e/g, Bluetooth v1.2 and Infrared.
Nokia E61 supports the most common features of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and is fully compatible with Zip Manager and Adobe Reader. Advanced email capabilities allow works in offline mode enabling read and write email even when network is unavailable.
The Nokia E61 smartphone is capable of working with a variety of email services including IMAP4, POP3, corporate BlackBerry, MS Intellisync and Visto systems. Besides it allows contacts and calendar information synchronization with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes systems.
Nokia E61 has 75-MB of internal memory and a connector for miniSD is available to expand the memory using 64-MB miniSD memory card with hotswap.
Nokia E61 smartphone comes with a Standard Li-Ion 1500 mAh (BP-5L) battery which provides up to 6 hours of talktine and up to 245 hours of standby time on full charge.
Weighing about 144 grams, the new Nokia E61 mobile phone is quite handy with compact size of 117 x 69.7 x 14 mm.
