Infibeam (shopping portal) has announced a custom e-Book reader named as Pi, that is lighter than paper magazine and less than 10-mm thick, offering support for all popular e-Book formats in addition to support for photos/images display and audio play.
Lighter than a standard magazine at 180 gms, the Pi e-Book reader measures 188 x 118 x9.8 mm in size and is equipped with 6-inch 600 x 800 pixels resolution E-Ink Vizplex monochrome display offering 9 grayscale in black with no backlit, that provides a crisp reading experience everywhere.
Powered by S3C2440 processor, the Infibeam Pi e-Book reader comes with 512-MB internal memory capable of storing 500 e-Books and features SD memory card slot for expandable memory of upto 4-GB capacity enough for upto 3,000 e-Books.
Offering almost 100,000 e-Books texts in Hindi, Sanskrit and most official Indian languages, for ready download, the Infibeam Pi e-Book reader supports popular e-Book formats including PDF, EPUB, HTML, TXT, MOBI, DOC in addition to support for image/photo display (JPG, BMP, PNG) and MP3 audio playback support.
The Pi e-Book reader comes with 1000 mAh Li-Polymer rechargeable battery that provides 7 days reading time and it features, a mini-USB slot for connectivity, a navigational button at bottom-right enabling 4-way navigation and selection and custom buttons for back, home, plus / minus for size changes etc.
