HTC Legend Announced With Android Eclair 2.1 and Enhanced HTC Sense UI

HTC has today announced at Mobile World Congress, BARCELONA, its new HTC Legend Smartphone that runs Google latest Android Eclair 2.1 mobile operating system and features an enhanced HTC Sense user interface that includes a new newsreader application and widget.

The HTC Legend Smartphone boasts a unique design with a smooth, continuous surface, machined from a single aluminum block into a seamless compact frame and is powered by Android Eclair 2.1 mobile operating system and features newly enhanced HTC Sense user interface with exciting new features.

The HTC Sense user interface revolves around three fundamental principles that were developed by HTC viz. Make It Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected which continue to be the key to the new HTC Sense user interface build in HTC Legend Smartphone.

The enhanced HTC Sense introduces a new HTC application and widget called HTC Friend Stream which seamlessly integrate all of user’s social communication including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organised flow of updates, making it easier than ever to focus on what friends are doing as well as to view the images and links that they share.

The enhanced HTC Sense user interface also introduces broad improvements to applications including the browser, email client, IMs and others and includes a new newsreader application and widget, as well as a new seven-screen ‘Leap’ thumbnail view for quick and easy access to specific screens.

The HTC Legend Smartphone is equipped with 600 MHz Processor and it comes with 512-MB ROM and 384-MB RAM internal memory with microSD card support of upto 32-GB expandable memory and features a 3.2 inch, AMOLED HVGA hi-resolution LED backlit display. In addition, a brand new optical joystick, surrounded by a narrow button replaces the traditional trackball improving usability without interrupting its unique design.

Weighing only 126 gms, the HTC Legend Smartphone measures 112 x 56.3 x 11.5 mm and also sports a 5.0 Megapixel camera with built-in LED flash, and also features GPS receiver with A-GPS support, Bluetooth 2.1 with FTP and OPP file transfer capabilities, a 3.5mm audio headphone jack, and USB 2.0 port.
