Apple to release web tablet tomorrow

Fusion Garage, HP, Dell and many others have already announced or planning to announce their web tablets. Apple Inc, the famous Cupertino based company who dethroned many cell phone manufactures with its iPhone, is also planning to announce their web tablet. Apple web tablet will be announced at a special event on January 2007 by Steve Jobs. The exact name of the device is not yet published. However, different blogs states that it would be iSlate or iPad. Apple's strategy is not to reveal product details before official introduction. Like always the price, specification and exact name of mystery Apple tablet will be announced only at proposed event. The tablet will be a multi purpose touch screen device for internet browsing, reading ebooks and general entertainment. Its going to the second largest announcement for this year after Google Nexus One.

Apple iSlate/iPad announcement :

Internet tablet is something that has a functionality lies in between netbook and mobile device. There was a recent trend for large screen mobile devices with capacitive touch screen and multi touch facilities. The pleasure of accessing web pages and other entertainment features maximizes as the device screen increase. So that would be the main reason for Apple and many others to introduce web tablets. Apple web tablet might be a larger version of iPhone or iPod. The device is expected to be powered by the latest iPhone OS 4.0


Here are few features expected in Apple web tablet (iSlate or iPad)

Large screen LCD display with an interface similar to iPhone and iPod.
All most all iPhone applications would have compatible variant for iPad or iSlate.
iPhone OS 4.0 would bring multi-tasking and system wide multi-touch to all devices including tablet.
Front camera and microphone.
Would include Safari internet browser and some kind of ebook reading software.
Apple web tablet is expected to support WiFi and 3G networks.


Will Apple launch its internet tablet in India:

Well we don't think that would happen anytime soon. Apple not even released iPhone 3G S in India. The price Apple tablet would be higher than netbooks and medium level laptops. Also the network requirements are not easily available in many parts of the country.
