Add Audio to Captured/Recorded Snagit Video [Snagit Tip]

Posted: 02 Oct 2009 02:51 AM PDT

Snagit is a product from techsmith which is used to capture images from your desktop. Not only images, but also with Snagit you can capture text, record videos and capture scrolling windows in a snap. This is a commercial capturing tool with tons of useful features, recently there was also a license key giveaway from Snagit!

Anyway, here is a small snagit tip for those of you who want to add audio on the snagit captured videos. As you might know (if you've used snagit capturing tool) while you use snagit for video capturing you cannot record audio or embed mp3 audio to video directly.

For this reason the workaround solution that works pretty well is "Dubit" which is a free tool to add audio to snagit recorded video instantly.

Capture Audio on Snagit Videos

The first process is to capture video with snagit video recording options and save it on your hard disk (it's in .AVI format). Now, download dubit and install it on your desktop. Once you are done with this, open Dubit tool and open the recorded video (use ctrl+0) you've captured using Snagit.

You can now add audio to the video using 'Edit' feature of Dubit or you can also record audio, change the audio properties as well.

The only disadvantage is that dubit accepts wav format files only. So, if you have mp3 files that needs to be added to snagit videos then you have to convert MP3 to WAV format and carry on with the rest of the process.
